Traveling Them Thar Hills

Cape Blanco Lighthouse, 1st floor….

These pictures are from the first floor of the lighthouse.
One particular picture is of the arch, discovered in 2003
during a renovation. It had not been seen in many years.

These pictures can’t do justice to the beauty of this lighthouse.
It can only really be appreciated in person! As a host at this
lighthouse, listening to all the “oohs & ahhs” as people walk-thru
and see each of the levels, one can appreciate the greatness of
this place. I guess that’s why people make it a bucket list, to
see them all.

They are all unique pieces of art!

Morning beach finds / Afternoon bike path

This morning we took a 5 mile walk on the beach.
Today’s finds ranged from Canadian geese, wind swept
rocks to beach agates laying to be taken from low tide.
Tree earrings, to nightly tracks of raccoons.

This afternoon I took a mountain bike ride down a dark trail.
I had no idea where it was going to end up. It made me think
this must be what Sherwood Forest must have been like.
Then all of a sudden you come out to a Cliff with a view of
the lighthouse and beach to the north.

I’ve often asked, “name me one thing the government has done right?”
… and haven’t received an answer, from anybody, yet!
But NOW I have changed my mind. The Oregon State parks department
has impressed me to no end! Everyday I see something new that we
all get to enjoy, that aren’t seen in other states…
and that is a never ending beach for ALL to enjoy,
and they do it so great!

Our First Week At The Lighthouse

This week has been very enjoyable… wind, fog, and cold! And it beats the
smoke and heat in southern Oregon because of the fires.

Here are some pictures from the past week. It has been a great one!
